Call for nominations of globally minded youth groups!
The BC Council for International Cooperation (BCCIC) is seeking nominations for outstanding youth groups or classrooms that are inspiring examples of working together to make a difference on global issues. BCCIC will be recognizing youth contributions to global social justice in February 2013 in celebration of International Development Week.
International Development Week (IDW) is an opportunity to showcase young Canadians active in Canada’s development community and how, together, they make a positive impact in our world. IDW programming is undertaken with the financial support of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
BCCIC will be selecting three youth groups from across BC to be profiled online and in the media for their contributions to a particular global cause. A representative from each group will attend a youth activism workshop in Vancouver on Saturday, February 9th, 2013 as special guests. The event will also highlight additional speaking guests, facilitated discussion, and an opportunity to meet like-minded individuals.
Global social justice encompasses action addressing the economic, social, and environmental inequalities in Canada and around the world.
Nominations are open and close December 10th, 2012. Any club, classroom, or group ages 29 and under is eligible for nomination. Please direct any questions to Kareen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
