For over 2,000 years, the indigenous tribes of the mountainous rice terraces of northern Philippines have grown rice. Challenged and threatened by development on their lands and traditions, a group of fair trade rice farmers have formed a cooperative not only to market their rice but as a way to preserve their culture, heirloom seeds and the rice terraces. Presented by the Kamloops United Church Global and Community Action Group, enjoy a Filipino dinner featuring Ulikan Red Rice, Violet Sticky Rice and more followed by a slide show. Help these farmers succeed.

Ticket prices: Dinner and slide show, $25/person OR Slide show only, $10/person. Tickets available from Kamloops United Church office or call 250-372-3020 or visit www.kamloopsunited.ca for more information.
